Do you google or run background checks on yourself?

With all the modern technology available i feel this is a legitimate question.

This week alone i have googled myself at least 5 times, i don't know why, i guess if there is some sort of government plan or conspiracy out to get me i want to be one of the first to know. Well i know thats ridiculous, but you can never really tell noadays, i personally know of many reasons why one would want to google themselfs. That sound like a bronx salute, "yea fella go google yourself."

I know this one girl who caught her boyfriend sleeping with her best friend. She put his picture up on a bunch of local and national gay forums and dating websites. She even set up profiles and made contact information using his real address and phone number. Now thats a first rate case of someone who should have googled them self. He could have tracked down the websites and squashed his profiles before he won "best gay rookie of the year" which my friend nominated him for. He may have deserved itbut either way it was funny as hell.

I also know a guy who use to find a particular phone number on his girlfriends cell phone. When he asked her who was the number? she always made up a story or denied ever recieving or making the phone call. When he tried to answer it they always hung up. Well this guy gets sick of this a bit before he would have gone mental and signs up for a popular background check service. He punches in the number and finds an address a employment location and a bunch of other personal information. This guy cruises by the address but never sees his girlfriends car. One day this guy (who is a geek) looks up the address on google earth (free google survielance software)and the flyover picture of the house shows his wifes car in the driveway. This guy tries to confront her and she continued to lie until he just made a plan and set in front of the guys house until his girlfriend showed up. He threw her clothes and stuff on the mans porch and called the guys wife (yea wife)and she showed up a bit later. He learned all this stuff from public records. This is a completely different world we live in today.

So to answer the question, hell yea i google myself and run background checks onme and anyone else i can think of.

Why are 98% of parents ignoring modern ways to protect their children?

I routinely go behind my children’s backs and actively snoop. I snoop on them and their friends and associates. Not only don’t I feel bad or in any way wrong, I am proud to do it. This world they are growing up in is not like the one we grew up in. I know their friend’s names, parent’s names, telephone numbers, addresses and license plates numbers. I do this openly and covertly with no guilt what so ever. Many of my friends and family say I am over the top but I believe I am only doing what a good parent should do. If my kids are hanging with criminals or other bad influences, I want to know? If my child is riding around with someone who is likely to drive drunk, I want to know. And I want to know before the police call me at 3am with the worst news of my life or to inform me that my child is in jail. So yes I collect all the information I can on my Childs friends and associates. I think more parents should grow a pair and use them to grow a child. And if my child feels I am nosy asking for the names of who they are leaving with, well they can turn around and stay at home.

I do these things not because I am a nosy, meddling person. I do these things because we are not in mayberry, Andy Griffith is not the sheriff and the criminals don’t run around in black and white striped uniforms and Zorro masks, making them easily identifiable to the good hard working townsfolk. We live in modern times with modern criminals that look just like any other person walking the streets. There are far more threats to mine and my Childs safety. I did not have to worry about perverts on myspace tempting me to get on a bus and meet them somewhere. There have always been dangers to children in the world, but there have never been as many dangerous threats specifically targeting our kids as there is now. Gone are the days of drag racing and beer drinking being parent’s primary worry when kids go out. Welcome to the days of far more extreme and targeted threats to their safety. Gone also are the days when juvenile delinquents wore leather jackets and smoked cigarettes. Welcome to the days when “young criminals” look, act and dress just like fine upstanding children and teen-agers. In this modern world you need a modern tool to add to your arsenal.

There are all kinds of manner of bad situations kids can get themselves into but there are far more situations that can be thrust upon them. I won’t even go into the parents that more than even contribute and pass their bad habits and beliefs onto their children giving them the chance to pass them along to yours. If I let myself think of those things I’d tie my kids up in their rooms never to venture outside until they were adults. But you have to let them grow as individuals, which means that good parents have to worry and get use to worrying. But there are things you can do to ease this burden of worry. You can try to know where they are, who they are with and how to get in touch with them if need be. You can also snoop and make sure they are not using drugs or drink or having unprotected sex. You can also enlist the help of a background check service that lets you check the names, license plates and telephone numbers of their friends and their friends parents, just in case. And the price is less than $30 for an unlimited number of searches during a 3 year period at their website. Even I can use the service, my husband sometimes uses it to check business associates. Call us nosy all you want, but I don’t consider myself a nosy person but there is nothing I would not do to keep my child alive and well and on the right path, and the best part is they never have to know. What would you do?

Interested in finding out more about this wonderful background check tool?

Learn Spanish on your commute, on your ipod or while you sleep.

I finally learned Spanish. I had been wanting to for years and years but now thanks to Leisure Audio Books, I have found a way to get closer daily to my goal of becoming fluent in Spanish and French. And the best part about it is that it cost me almost nothing, when compared to lessons and books and private tutors. I just pop in a tape or play a digital recording and I am my way. I personally chose cassette tapes, I just pop the tape into my cars stereo system, start my commute and listen. I am officially learning Spanish in the comfort and privacy of my own personal vehicle.

After only a week or so I can now understand allot of the conversation conducted in Spanish around my jobs water cooler, bathrooms and hallways. Its like I have access to twice as much data input as I did only days ago. I also hear allot more gossip that the tellers feel completely safe reporting in the public; you know what they say about assuming. I am a bit of a stinker as I could have informed them that I speak a bit of Spanish myself, I will when I am a bit better. Maybe. Why did I wait so long? Maybe it was fate and technology has finally gotten to a point where I can use it to my personal interior desires. And when I am not learning Spanish I entertain myself on those half hour rush hour standstills by listening to my favorite author or tv show episode or radio oldie or well just about anything that has ever been printed filmed or broadcast. I just finished a thriller that kept me on edge for 2 days back and forth to work. This is really a great idea, and there are so many titles that even if they never get another new title (they will) I could better myself for years to come. And the course started at about $8.00, how can you procrastinate any longer when the cost of going forward and learning a new language is only $8.00? There is no excuse you can make.

I loved this service so much in fact that I have signed on as an affiliate and some time this month I will be peddling the tapes to my co-workers and friends. I am thinking about a website in the future because this product has got to go through the roof. If you see a lady on your door step with a smile and a briefcase….Let me in.

Take a look at the actual website, you will be amazed.

Online freelance jobs sites: The next big buzz on the web?

Are online freelance job sites the next big internet staplee?

If you can't find online freelance work that you can do from your own computer and you know your way around designing or writing or marketing...then you are an idiot. I know 12 year old kids making $100s of dollars re-writing under 12 copy for childrens websites. Whos going to beat kids talking to kids? And i have seen people make money rewriting website copy for all types of websites. You really can make a decent income doing what you do. when i first thought about becoming a freelance i was leery because i diddnt think i was 133t enough to charge for my small skills. I know allot of guys that can mod and program better than me. Its not about that, its about the multitudes of people that i can write, program and design better than. Millions of people have websites and not one clue what the heck they are doing. I help them save allot of time and money and i do good work. The online freelance jobs niche is going to go supernova very soon and the competition will be staggering. I am glad i have already done a few projects and made a "repp" for what i do. I am gonna be rich when it takes off. And then i won't even have to take projects i will share in the wealth with the site i hooked up with.

What i am trying to tell you is to make money online freelancing you have to go where the jobs are and tell the outsourcer (guy looking to have work done) that you can do the job and how much you would charge. If he likes your price or reputation, or rating, then you will do what you bid on and finish the job. After you have done the job and shown the client the result he accepts and clicks to pay from the retainer the site holds awaiting you completion of the job. So that way you can't get stiffed and they can't get stiffed. The money is digital or direct deposit, you can even get a snail-mail check, old school. This is online at its best, where else can you own the world from your own home? Where else can you work at your own pace? where else can you write or program or design your way to rent and extra money in just a few hours a week? This is the future and will boom soon. Get onboard and secure you place and make some real at home job money without selling a thing. This is real, not a fad.

I have heard enough take me to the job listings so i can find some freelance work!

What background check services work? Employee screening search.

A background check is your opportunity to verify information provided by your candidate. It can also reveal information that was either mistakenly or intentionally omitted - such as residency in other regions where a criminal record might be located. Background checks also help confirm dates of attendance and degrees or certifications earned, and background checks can also provide specific information about prior employment. The bottom line … your applicant's history will go a long way in predicting their future and a thorough employee background check during the pre employment screening process helps you see both.

Poor hiring practices can cost a company in lost productivity, theft, and at the extreme end, workplace violence incidents that can cost lives, damage the company's reputation, and depress future earnings. Legal expenses for negligence lawsuits (for issues including negligent hiring, supervision, security, training, and retention) average $2.2 million. But more devastating is the loss of life that violence in the workplace can cause. To minimize the risk of such incidents, companies need to implement a well-crafted hiring process that screens out violence-prone candidates before they become employees.

A complete hiring process to screen for violence-prone behaviors should include most, if not all, of the following items: self-opt-out selection techniques, strategic questions on the employment application, psychological assessments, background and reference checks, and behavioral interview questions.

Employers check potential and current workers for several reasons. The things an employer wants to know about you can vary with the kinds of jobs you might seek. Here are a few of the reasons for employment screening.

Negligent hiring lawsuits are on the rise. If an employee's actions hurt someone, the employer may be liable. The threat of liability gives employers reason to be cautious in checking an applicant's past. A bad decision can wreck havoc on a company's budget and reputation as well as ruin the career of the hiring official. Employers no longer feel secure in relying on their instinct as a basis to hire.

Current events have caused an increase in employment screening.

Child abuse and child abductions in the news in recent years have resulted in new laws in almost every state that require criminal background checks for anyone who works with children. The move to protect children through criminal background checks now includes volunteers who serve as coaches for youth sports activities and scout troop leaders.

Terrorist acts of September 11, 2001, have resulted in heightened security and identity-verification strategies by employers. Potential job candidates and long-time employees alike are being examined with a new eye following September 11, 2001.

Corporate executives, officers, and directors now face a degree of scrutiny in both professional and private life unknown before the Enron debacle and other corporate scandals of 2002.

False or inflated information supplied by job applicants is frequently in the news. Some estimates are that 30% to 40% of all job applications and resumes include some false or inflated facts. Such reports make employers wary of accepting anyone's word at face value.

Federal and state laws require that background checks be conducted for certain jobs. For example, most states require criminal background checks for anyone who works with children, the elderly, or disabled. The federal National Child Protection Act authorizes state officials to access the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database for some positions. Many state and federal government jobs require a background check, and depending on the kind of job, may require an extensive investigation for a security clearance.

The "information age" itself may be a reason for the increase in employment screening -- the availability of computer databases containing millions of records of personal data. As the cost of searching these sources drops, employers are finding it more feasible to conduct background checks.

How to get freelance jobs online and make money at it.

I know you are sick of seeing titles like mine all over the Internet, but this one is the real deal. I could tell you that I set up websites and made the perfect keyword phrases, or I could say that I resell a product 2 or 3 hours a day, I could but it would be a great big lie.

I did not make a website or sell a thing, I did it the old fashion way, I earned it. And the best part is no one even knows. Not unless I tell them. I tell a few friends that are geeks like me, we even have a little company set up in the garage. Well it’s more of an office than a company, maybe even a station, its just a few desks and chairs and computers.

Do online background checks really work? Paid or free, what’s best for me?

Do online background checks really work? Paid or free, what’s best? Online background investigations are up 2000% in the last 2 years for one reason: They are now fast, easy and effective.

The answer is yes and it depends on what you really require. If you are looking for general information a free public records search could help. If you are looking for in-depth personal information such as personal financial records or current employment information a paid service is best suited for your needs.

Perform a search in any major search engine for the query “free background check”. You will certainly be overwhelmed with the search results and paid advertisements regarding offers for free background searches. If this is the first time you have attempted to perform a free background check, you may be in for a surprise.

Most investigative firms suggest that you outsource the background checks for your company. This generally means that free background checks do not provide the quality information that you need. Free background checks online do not always give the employer accurate or thorough information required by law. While it is true that most people are not trying to hide information from employers, it is those who have a background of avoiding legal action, whether it be child support obligations or criminal action, by moving from state-to-state or even in more extreme cases, falsifying their identities. Because of the easy access to information, it has made the job of ‘con-artists’ even easier. Often times, free backgrounds checks on the Internet are not enough to screen for potential red flags.

Other experts in the investigation field recommend using searches in public records if the search is not of the most sensitive nature or is not necessarily one that has to be completed immediately. Websites that claim the too-good-to-be true advertising that they offer completely free background checks, are not being completely honest. An accurate and thorough background investigation takes time, and lots of it. This is the reason that private investigators charge a fee. They have access to databases and other areas that retrieves information about the prospective employee. It is usually in the best interest of the employer to dish out the $25+/- in order to: 1.) limit their time spent on endless searches Article Submission, 2.) to ensure accurate and thorough information and 3.) gain peace-of-mind that their decision to hire the applicant is a sound decision.

So in the whole scheme of things the best is usually the paid background search, for time saved and information delivered. There are even really nice places that allow life-time membership with unlimited searches. Here is a list of 3 such places.
